Iwillgetuintheend

A Happy “Ending”
On November 4, one of the best known and talented racehorses in Playfair racing history was saved two days before his “last” ride to Mexico. Iwillgetuintheend, a descendant of Seabiscuit, was saved through the efforts of SOS Equine Rescue and Ms. Laura Hillenbrand, the author of Seabiscuit. Ms. Hillenbrand located “Mose” on the SOS website and with the help of Google was able to locate one of the previous owners – myself, Claudia (Rayburn) Scott. Shaunna Byington of Kennewick, who is associated with SOS, and I located Mose at a feedlot in Benton City. The arrangements were made and Mose was transported to Davenport, where he was met and hauled home to Colbert.

Iwillgetuintheend (1986, gelding by Holy War—Sea Arco, by Corn Off the Cobb) was purchased as a yearling at the December 1987 WTBA Winter Mixed Sale at Longacres by myself, along with Larry and Stacy Rayburn. He won all of the major two-year-old races at Playfair in 1988, including the Spokane Futurity, and was second in the Yakima Futurity, earning almost $90,000 in his racing career. He was sold as a hunter-jumper prospect in 1995.

He is a loved and lucky retired racehorse. We are lucky to have him back “in the end.”
